Wire Rope Corporation of the Philippines
Wire Rope Corporation of the Philippines (WRCP) was established in 1960 under a joint venture project of ATLANTIC GULF AND PACIFIC (AG&P) COMPANY OF MANILA, INC. and BRITISH ROPES, LTD. (now BRIDON INTERNATIONAL, LTD.) Doncaster, England, U.K. It started manufacturing wire ropes in November 1963.
During the initial stage of operation, WRCP's manufacturing was under the supervision of British Technical Experts sent by Bridon International Ltd., of United Kingdom.
AG&P Machinery Sales Division first handled the marketing and sales of WRCP by a virtue of an Exclusive Distributorship Agreement. On June 16, 1993 the agreement was terminated, but WRCP has remain an affiliate of AG&P.
On September 1996, DM Consunji Incorporated the largest construction company in the Philippines acquired Atlantic Gulf and Pacific Company of Manila, consequently gaining the stock shares in WRCP on February 2000.
The marketing, sales and promotions are now being handled by WRCP.
